Leigh Ellen Johnson works with all international students on campus, including those pursuing full-time degrees and those visiting for a semester or a year, and she advises students on issues related to compying wtih visa regulations and to acclimating to life at Barnard and in NYC. Leigh Ellen grew up in New Jersey and recieved her B.A. from Douglass College at Rutgers University. She has also received an M.A.Ed. in Foreign Language Education, as well as a second M.A. in Spanish Translation from Rutgers University. Originally starting her career in Residence Life, she worked at Rutgers University and the University of Connecticut before embarking on a new professional journey sailing around the world with Semester at Sea, which began her career in International Education. Leigh Ellen worked and lived in Florence, Italy, for a short time before moving to Miami, Florida, where she worked for Barry University, coordinating all international initiatives for the Andreas School of Business, including creating a faculty-led study abroad program to Nuremburg, Germany. Leigh Ellen has traveled to more than 20 different countries, and some of her favorites include South Africa, Japan, Italy, Vietnam, and Spain.

Mark Farrell has been a member of the Office of International and Intercultural Student Programs since November 2013. Before joining the OIISP, he was a member of the Office of the Dean of
Studies, where he helped to provide support for international students for many years.
